There are many wonderful and interesting things to see and do, and many amazing experiences to have. The Wakatobi is culturally diverse, it contains the largest Bajo (sea gypsies) community in the world, 11 ethnic dialects are spoken within the islands and the people have many intesting cultures and traditions. For example there exist a myriad of traditional dances such as (Balumpa, Kenta, Sajo Moanne Lariangi, Lengko, Paloge Ngivi), whilst the park contains a number of ancient fortresses as memories of historic battles.

There exists over 600km of reefs ranging from walls, slopes, ridges, caves, sea grass beds, mangroves and beautiful white sandy beaches. The Wakatobi has the longest atoll in the world (Kerang Kaledupa) containing some of the most bio diverse marine fauna in the world, 590+ species of fish, 750+ species of hard corals (90% of the worlds total), 70+ species of sponges and an immense array of large marine creatures. Whales, dolphins, manta rays, turtles, whale sharks, hammer head sharks and dugongs all frequent the park that the legendary Jacques Costeau described as the finest diving site in the World.
