In Bau-Bau there are a number of reasonable hotels, however a particularly nice one is located above the town on the hill side and is called Hill House. Hill house owned by  English speaking hosts Ibu and Pak Kasim. The Hill house is situated in the old Wolio fortress on top of the hill where the view is magnificent the temperature is cool and the dinners delicious. Other reasonable hotels are the Rajawale and Lilyana (2 star), Debora (2 star), and the Marannu (2 star).

3) Silvana

Good chicken and rice dishes (very popular with locals)

4) Sri Solo

Has wide selection of rice / noodles and has an English menu. (In centre Bau Bau City)

5) Kanangan

Has wide selection of fish dishes but is pricey and therefore often empty (In centre Bau Bau City)

6) Pantai Kamali is the promenade in front of Bau Bau City and between the two harbors, here there are many small warungs (restaurants) and one of the best is Ambon Manese

Transport in and around Bau Bau

Taxis (metre), ojeks (motor bike taxis, priced between rp2-3,000 per trip), mikrolite (minibus available for day hire rp250,000) and becaks (bicycle taxi priced between rp2-3,000 per trip)
